Which countries have better or worse weather?
Previously we mentioned some destinations that offer better or worse weather conditions at Christmas, but which can be visited at any time of year. If your trip includes physical activity, however, weather can be a deciding factor in some countries.
This would be the case, for example, of Oman, where our Christmas holidays coincide with the year’s mildest temperatures and clearest skies, allowing spectacular trips such as sailing in kayak through the fjords of the Musandam peninsula.
Another destination in which we will enjoy the best climate during our Christmas vacation is in Nepal. Although it is a destination that we can visit throughout the year, from October to December we will find clear skies, a cool climate and lower humidity, which will allow us to make the best of our trekking and hiking routes.

When planning our holiday, Central America may spring to mind: Christmas coincides with the dry, sunny season. It is a chance to combine swimwear with a Santa hat, and the best season to visit, for example, Costa Rica. The warm and dry climate we find there in our winter is ideal for exploring its beaches, rainforests and volcanoes.
The same applies to another destination we love, New Zealand. Here we will enjoy, December-February, warm weather and generally clear skies, with nature at its finest. These are therefore ideal dates to organise one of our travel in small groups to New Zealand.

Where is Christmas low or high season, and which trips are cheapest?
In Tuareg We don't like to talk about cheap travel, but about destinations where Travelling at Christmas, you can get a better value for money.
Naturally, high and low seasons are closely linked to travel prices. By assessing each destination, we weigh the pros and cons to offer the best options for each time of year.
So, while we were saying that the Southeast Asia has its most favourable weather between December and February, it is also high season, so expect higher prices. The same applies to Nepal or New Zealand.

This rule does not apply everywhere. In some destinations, Christmas does not define the tourist season, so travelling in December costs little more or less than at other times of year. This is the case in Albania, Moldova and India, where prices remain more stable and seasonal crowds do not affect the experience.
The opposite is true in destinations such as Senegal or Chad, where we will get cheaper prices if we decide travel there in Christmas and where, in our view, the summer weather during our winter would not be a reason to avoid doing so.
Where can you travel alone at Christmas?
Travelling alone at Christmas It’s a classic. Our groups always include solo travellers. Depending on single-room bookings, we list trips on our website where room sharing is possible and/or other solo travellers have booked. Keep an eye on the website!
