Northern Finland is one of Europe’s last wilderness areas. We will explore the boreal forest on foot and discover Finnish culture: sausages and coffee around a fire, tracking wild animals and a revitalising sauna. After the day’s activities, weather permitting, we will head out to watch the northern lights from one of the designated viewing areas. Statistically, we will be in one of the best places to see them.

A short, intense immersion in Lapland’s nature, with a chance to see the magnificent Northern Lights. Staying in a cosy hotel in Inari (69°N), we walk through taiga forests and ride snowmobiles on Lake Inari. At day’s end, conditions permitting, we go to designated spots to watch the auroras. Statistically, this is one of the best places to see them.

An active trip suitable for anyone used to walking, led by Arctic specialists and staying in cabins and hotels. For the first three days, we cross part of frozen Lake Inari by dog sled, sleeping in welcoming island cabins. Later, we snowshoe from our hotel and ride snowmobiles through boreal forest. We discover Sámi culture at the Siida Museum and Sámi Parliament. Weather permitting, we watch the Northern Lights at night.

Ski expedition from the eastern end of Lake Inari. Frozen by the low temperatures at this time of year, we will learn to orient ourselves and live in the polar environment and enjoy the spectacle of the Northern Lights.
