7 amazing natural landscapes for this summer

We know that one of the main reasons we travel the world is to immerse ourselves in nature. Of course, there are other motivations, such as culture, photography, history and archaeology. But today we are going to talk about trips where nature and landscapes take centre stage. Let's look at some of the most splendid natural environments we can travel to this summer.

Travel to 7 amazing natural landscapes

A fiery fountain of colours in the United States

It looks like Mordor's evil eye, it looks like a painting, the eye of a reptile in the depths of the jungle. It seems impossible.

It is actually the great hot-water spring known as Grand Prismatic Spring. One of the world’s largest hot springs. Remarkably, bacteria thrive and reproduce here. They are responsible for the striking colours that make a visit so memorable. Needless to say, the well-known Yellowstone National Park is brimming with beautiful landscapes across its nearly 900,000 protected hectares. Here is another good photo of the Grand Prismatic Spring.

Antarctic continent

In the far south lies one of planet Earth’s natural jewels. Water, rock and ice form a combination of great beauty, constantly changing from year to year. This magnificent setting is home to penguin colonies and a wide variety of animals adapted to the cold. The cycle of life and the seasons finds expression in the Antarctica with all its potential.

Namibian Desert

In Namibia enjoy wildlife, a pristine environment and vast dune landscapes in some of the world's oldest deserts. Travellers may find themselves taking endless photos in a vain attempt to capture the place's beauty. We want to capture the ancient spirit that hangs over the landscape, nature's great masterpiece. Our prehistoric ancestors tried to do so in petroglyphs scattered across the country. Would you like to try?

A sea of green and gold at Lake Son Kul

When the snow retreats, Lake Son Kul becomes accessible in Kyrgyzstan. This beautiful spot in Naryn province is surrounded by the mighty mountains of Central Asia. Along its shores, Kyrgyz shepherds maintain a nomadic way of life, crossing the endless plains in search of the best pasture for their livestock. One of Lake Son Kul’s great attractions is its role as a meeting place for local people.

Halong Bay in Vietnam

One of those places that takes your breath away at first sight. It is no coincidence that its roughly 120 km of coastline was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994. What hasn’t been said about such a special place? What adjective is left to describe this extraordinary landscape, dotted with islets cloaked in lush greenery? Everyone wants to explore the waters of the Halong Bay and it is a must-see on a trip to Asia.

Angel Falls, Venezuela

The highest waterfall in the world: an immense cascade over 900 metres high. A sight worth seeing. Nature at its purest. Crystal-clear water plunging from above Auyantepuy and soaks the jungle surrounding the distinctive rock formation in Venezuela’s Canaima National Park.

The tepuis, dwelling places of the gods in local mythology, are plateaus with sheer walls. Many remain untouched by humans to this day and are home to unique endemic species.

A curiosity. Among the several discoverers of the waterfall (the indigenous they don't count) includes a Catalan born in Malgrat de Mar, Fèlix Cardona.

In this selection, there was a very special landscape portrayed by Oscar Blanco. His picture of the Northern Lights taken on the Finland trip won our photography competition. It invites us to contemplate the landscape from the ground, looking up towards the sky and stars: a complete immersion in the northern lights, whose magical glow touches everything within reach.
