Looking for a special trip in October?

Lake Natron: Safaris and adventures in Maasai land. Special departure from 6 to 16 October

Our Tanzania trip—Lake Natron, a journey through the Serengeti and Ngorongoro—combines the landscapes and wildlife we hope to see on an African safari with the chance to spend a few days on what feels like another planet. We will find a pink lake, animals mummified by salt and an active volcano to climb. Above all, we can discover daily Maasai life away from tourist villages.

What awaits us in the area of Lake Natron?

The Rift fault. Geology in action. We are standing on one of the planet’s great geographical features.

A destination with suitable and safe routes

Tanzania has not been badly affected by coronavirus. Our trips usually combine safaris with activities introducing local culture and natural landscapes. These take place outdoors, with little contact with other travellers. Visits to local ethnic groups will be conducted implementing the international standards established by WHO to provide security for all.

At the northern border, the savannah gives way to a lunar landscape where flamingos gather seasonally. The silhouette of Ol Doinyo Lengai, the sacred mountain of the Maasai, is unmistakable

Travelling alone? Reduced single supplement

For the 6/oct departure only, we offer a special price of 360 € for single accommodation throughout the trip.
You can also book shared accommodation and avoid this supplement if another traveller of the same sex requests the same arrangement.

But... can you travel?

Of course; planes are still flying and hotels have rooms, although the number of destinations without travel restrictions has shrunk

From a health point of view, refer to the recommendations of the authorities, both at home and at the destination: we only offer trips to countries where travel is not discouraged, complying with all required protocols and formalities.

And is it advisable to travel this autumn 2020?

There are reasons to recommend leave the trip for another time (new outbreaks, social pressure, entry formalities, fear of a changing situation…) and there are also reasons to start packing: There are destinations considered safe where COVID-19 incidence is much lower, routes adapted to minimise risk and, above all, responsible travellers who understand the precautions to follow

And if we talk about the advantages, there is one that, from our point of view, stands out over the others: the chance to visit normally crowded places with unusual privacy. That is what Ignasi and Mª del Mar told us from Iceland this August, as did Anna C.’s family from Tanzania.

...we saw only three vehicles in a whole day in the Serengeti…

...a few people and a lack of tourist buses. Iceland like 10 years ago...
