The Okavango is a mighty river that rises in Angola to make its way for 1000 km through Africa, crossing Namibia and ending his journey in the Kalahari Desert, in Botswana. But if it ends up in Botswana, where is the sea? Well, that is the interesting part: there is no sea. At its end, the Okavango River forms an ‘alluvial fan’: instead of flowing into the sea, its waters disappear into the arid lands of Botswana, leaving a spectacular landscape declared a World Heritage Site in 2014: The Okavango Delta.
A place to travel once in a lifetime
There are many reasons to want travel to the Okavango Delta. Its incredible visual impact, lush, pristine vegetation and varied wildlife are undoubtedly its main attractions. But it also allows us to enjoy safaris by land and boat, as well as flying over the area in a light aircraft, so that the trip is both spectacular and great fun.
Spectacular flora and fauna

In the Okavango Delta is an ideal habitat for life, with several distinct areas. In the river's final stretches, we find the area of Panhandle, an ideal place for bird watching and fishing. In addition, Seronga, where the waters disperse and the Okavango River loses its course, the delta creates thousands of islands where we see large groups of mammals and birds among fascinating palm groves and papyrus. A little farther south, in the Moremi Nature Reserve, we find large swamps that animals use as refuge in times of drought.
Mokoro safaris

The Okavango Delta allows us to explore its waterways by motorboat or aboard «mekoros”, the traditional local canoes, an ideal way to explore one of the most diverse, rich and idyllic ecosystems in all Africa. As we cruise through the peaceful delta, we will encounter local wildlife and appreciate all kinds of vegetation.
Fly over the Okavango Delta

Fly above the Okavango Delta is the best way to appreciate the scale of the place. From the air, we see water disappearing into the land, leaving a maze of channels, islands and lagoons that form a spectacular ecosystem. Flying low, we can spot herds of animals moving across the area. This video is an excellent example:
What an exceptional place! If you would like to discover it, our journey proposes to continue the Okavango River, starting at Namibia, passing through the Okavango Delta and ending in the Victoria Falls. We will explore these areas in 4×4, plane, helicopter, mekoro and speedboats, travelling comfortably and resting in pleasant accommodation. Will you join us?
