…we are the sum of our grandparents, great-grandparents and great-great-grandparents…
According to this belief, human existence continues through time, as each individual has lived previous lives, even without remembering them.
Our trip to Guatemala
We will visit Lake Atitlán and Mayan ruins, and experience the unique Easter celebrations in Antigua. On this special departure, a Maya timekeeper—ajq’ij in the K’iche’ language—will join us. Through rituals and explanations, this spiritual guide will help us understand the Maya worldview.
In addition to the variety of landscape, history and culture in such a small country, we will live Easter processions in the heart of traditional Guatemala, in highland villages, Quiché and Antigua.

Tropical forests, lakes and volcanoes dotted with colourful indigenous markets and Mayan remains. The Petén jungle hides the Mayan archaeological sites of Tikal and Yaxhá. Lake Atitlán is surrounded by volcanoes, while on the Caribbean coast, Livingston moves to a reggae rhythm.
Highlights of the trip
The mountains
Indigenous towns and markets among volcanoes, lakes, caves and mountains.
Forest of Petén
The heart and largest settlement of the Mayan civilization, yet to be discovered.
Río Dulce Reserve
We descend the quiet Dulce River until we encounter the Afro-Caribbean atmosphere of the coast.

Easter in Guatemala
A chance to attend different processions in Antigua and other Easter celebrations. These unique experiences include hundreds of floral carpets laid in the streets, grand processions and an atmosphere that Combines religious ritual with local folklore. Elaborate, eye-catching carpets decorate the streets with quetzals, flowers and crosses. The air carries the scent of freshly dampened sawdust, corozo flowers and incense. A battalion dressed as Roman soldiers in gold and red announces the processions, while a purple tide of hooded cucuruchos parades through the streets, taking turns to carry religious images on their shoulders.
The parades are accompanied throughout the tour by musical orchestras that perform funeral and festive marches.
