The best of the trip: The guide was excellent, knowledgeable about both nature and Costa Rica’s culture and history. He paid close attention to the group and made sure we were comfortable.
Impressions of the trip of interest to other travellers: Very good, despite the inevitable rainy-season weather. The only tiring aspect was the long bus journeys; more time in a natural park with a beach would have been welcome.

Impressions of the trip of interest to other travellers: Visiting archaeological sites in excessive heat. I enjoyed Deccan Monastery and Prizren, but it may be too much driving for one day.

The best of the trip: BWINDI Impenetrable Forest, one of only 3 places on Earth where you can spend an hour with mountain gorillas; Murchison Falls National Park, the country’s oldest, where you can see Africa’s Big Five and the Nile falls within the park. The varied landscapes are also appealing: jungle, savannah, tea fields, forests, mountains and vast lakes where wildlife lives alongside local fishermen. ZIWA’s white rhino reserve is also well worth visiting. Children, teenagers and young people are visible throughout the journey. This is a lively, colourful country with respectful, cheerful people who show great resilience in the face of adversity.
Impressions of the trip of interest to other travellers:An exciting trip through nature at its purest, with wildlife watching and the highlight of an hour beside mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. The accommodation is very comfortable, inside national parks or close to the activities included in the programme.
