Travellers’ reviews of the Kyrgyzstan trip

Isabel G. – Kyrgyzstan 26/06
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Impressions of the trip of interest to other travellers

  • The country’s nomadic traditions and cultures pleasantly surprised me.
  • Influence of the Silk Road.
  • Varied spring landscapes. The professionalism of our local guide, Ksenia, deserves a special mention.

The best of the trip: Small and very friendly group, the landscapes ... Respect of the inhabitants towards the country.

Suggestions for future trips:
Perhaps a little more easy hiking, though it is difficult to fit in.
Another night at Lake Son-Kul would be worthwhile. The camp has excellent facilities and extraordinary scenery to explore. The drive there is long, and an extra night would make up for it.

Impressions of the trip of interest to other travellers

  • Very nice trip.
  • An extraordinary and surprising landscape.
  • Good food and more than satisfactory accommodation.
  • Perhaps there could have been more hiking, but that depends on the weather and the group’s abilities.
  • In short, excellent.

The best of the trip: The planning, coordination and our guide Tsen’s kindness and ability to solve unexpected problems and make everything run perfectly. She deserves a 10.. A country with spectacular landscapes and very welcoming people. Staying in yurts is an experience in itself, and the Lake Son Kul camp is well organised and equipped.

Suggestions for future travel: One more day on Lake Son Kul

Impressions of the trip of interest to other travellers

  • Kyrgyzstan is fortunately still little known, making travel there more rewarding: you really discover the country and its people.
  • With good organisation and an excellent guide — thank you, Ksenia — everything is perfect.

The best of the trip: In Bishkek, the capital, Kyrgyzstan retains its Russian ties while rediscovering its own character. Mountains, petroglyphs, gorges in shades of pink and earth, national parks and, to crown it all, the camp at impressive Lake Son-Kul.
