In March, with winter coming to an end, we have the last chance of the year to observe Northern lights in Finland and take advantage of the longer days and warmer nights to explore the Algerian Sahara. These are also the last departures for trekking in the heart of the Himalayas, not forgetting that at the end of March comes one of the most important moments of Japanese life; the «Sakura’.
Spring, the best time to travel to Japan.
The flowering of cherry trees in Japan, known as Sakura, usually occurs between late March and early April. This event varies according to the region and climatic conditions of each year. Flowering begins in the south, in places like Okinawa, and progresses northwards, reaching Hokkaido later.
Last March, our photographer and guide Ignasi Rovira based himself in Finland to receive our groups.
As well as being an excellent guide, Ignasi is an excellent photographer. In the afternoons, he organised activities and group talks to help travellers understand this phenomenon, covering its physics and astronomy as well as photography and time-lapse techniques.
Ignasi was the coordinator of 3 groups on the trip Northern lights in Saariselkä. They all saw the Northern Lights at night and enjoyed an exciting programme of winter adventures during the day.
The northern lights are one of the great natural spectacles visible from our planet.
Ignasi has travelled all over the world and guided groups of Viajes Tuareg on a large number of photography tours and trips, always ensuring that travellers return delighted.
