Peru is always on a traveller’s wish list. Markets that have operated for centuries, a high plateau that takes your breath away (literally), the floating Uros islands and the imperial city of the Incas to finish.
A trip to Peru is not just to visit Machu Picchu.

Arequipa → Lake Titicaca → Cuzco.
A 17-day journey through the spine of the Andes that very few travelers make... and none forget.
This trip explores southern Peru, home to the main archaeological sites and some of the Andes’ most spectacular scenery. From Arequipa, we travel to Colca Canyon and Lake Titicaca, staying on the Capachica Peninsula. We continue through the Andes to Cusco and the Sacred Valley, then ascend to Machu Picchu.

Largely within the Andes, Peru preserves Inca cultural heritage among the mountains.
About altitude sickness
This itinerary ascends gradually to allow acclimatisation. Altitude sickness, or “soroche”, can appear in the first few days above 3,000 metres. Local remedies include coca tea, chewing coca leaves and drinking plenty of fluids. Some medicines are also used to ease its effects.
Avoid large or heavy meals, drink plenty of fluids and slow your usual pace.
