Desert travel: in a group, with family or with friends?

Traveling to the Sahara in a Group has something special: you share experiences with people you may not know yet, all there for the same reason. Bonds form, friendships grow and shared stories enrich the journey. Everything is organised too, offering peace of mind.

With friends, the journey takes on another rhythm. There is freedom to improvise, laugh without watching the clock and enjoy the desert’s silence with the closeness only friends share. Fireside conversations and unexpected moments make each day unique.

Family, the Sahara becomes a scene of discovery. Children are fascinated by dunes, camels and stars. It's an opportunity to be together, away from screens, and live something that will be remembered for years.

Which destination to choose to travel to the Sahara?

The Sahara is not a single landscape: it is a collection of unique scenarios. If you are looking for golden dunes and accessibility, the Southern Morocco It's ideal. For those who want to go further, Algeria offers the Tadrart, with rock formations that seem sculpted by artists, and also Saoura, a region of great contrasts where dunes, oases and landscapes of the Algerian west create a fascinating setting. Mauritania combines desert with living culture, markets and historic cities like Chinguetti. Chad, with Ennedi, is for those seeking remote places: stone arches, gueltas and landscapes from another planet.

And we can't forget the White Desert in Egypt, with natural chalk formations rising from the sand like surreal sculptures. It is a quiet, almost lunar place, ideal for those seeking beauty and calm.

Nights around the campfire

At nightfall, the desert surrounds us with silence and immensity. We gather around a fire beneath the stars, sharing stories, laughter and hot tea. Local drivers naturally join in with their experience and warmth. It is a simple, authentic moment that stays in the memory.

Imagine camping at night under an infinite sky of stars with your family or friends, with the desert and silence as the only companions, sharing moments around the fire.

What is a day in the desert like?

A desert day begins with sun appearing among the dunes and tea warming beside the fire. After breakfast, we pack camp and walk in silence, feeling the cool air and vast landscape, hearing only sand crunch beneath our feet. Later, vehicles catch up and we follow quiet tracks through dunes and unexpected places. At midday, we find shade for lunch and rest.

In the afternoon, the route leads to oases, archaeological remains or encounters with nomadic herders. At camp, we pitch tents and use the last light to explore. Dinner is shared by the fire amid stories, music and stars. Local drivers join in naturally, sharing their experience and warmth.

The nights of the Sahara have something you don't forget.
