After two years...Japan reopens its doors! Special departure Momiji-gari from 10 to 27 November.
We are delighted to be able to travel there at our favourite time of year, when we can enjoy momiji-gari, the search for autumn colours.
In November, the weather is cooler and the trees wear a striking cloak of ochre, orange, red and even violet leaves. Villages, shrines and forests fill with colour, and the big cities come alive again after the high temperatures of August and the typhoons of September.
Since September visitors can now move freely through Japan, with only a few formalities and prior reservations by the agency.
Japan combines lush nature, monumental temples, idyllic gardens, peaceful lakes and legendary mountains with futuristic cities such as Tokyo and Kyoto. Neon-filled streets evoke an electronic world contrasting with ancient temples.
Tokyo with a local
Walking through Tokyo immerses you in innovative architecture, sometimes minimalist, sometimes extravagant. Alongside Ginza and Omotesando’s bold fashion-brand buildings, the Nezu Museum and St Mary’s Cathedral, seat of the Catholic archdiocese, showcase the city’s modern, functional spaces.
Guidebooks rightly recommend Asakusa’s temples and Omotesando’s shopping area. A short walk away, however, lies the everyday Tokyo that forms the city’s soul.
