Are you looking for a holiday destination but haven’t decided yet?
In the middle of the Atlantic, far from everything, Madeira rises like a mountain of lava and basalt above the ocean. Its interior is extremely rugged, a labyrinth of green ravines traversed by levadas, the ancient channels that distributed water throughout the island.
In the island of Madeira remnants of Madeira’s original humid laurel forest, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Following the old levadas, we will take easy to moderate walks. Trails wind between basalt formations, lava and green ravines, with spectacular Atlantic views all along the way. The hospitality of the pousadas awaits at the end of each day.
