The entry rules for the 2020–2021 photography competition are now available.

This year’s competition is open to travellers from 2020 and 2021. We invite you to take part: it’s fun, there are good cash prizes (with no obligation to spend them at the agency), and your photographs will get exposure.
Who can participate?
The competition is open to all those who have travelled with Tuareg during 2020 and 2021. The images presented must have been obtained during a trip with us in these years. All images that meet the technical requirements are accepted. Any photos related to the journey made, from the classic postcard of a magnificent place to photos of fun moments, although the ones that we like the most are the ones that help explain the trip (and if they are so good that they “convince,” we still like them better).
Technical conditions
- Photographs in JPG format, with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi and a minimum width of 2300px.
- Submitted files must follow this naming format: Country-Photo_title-Photographer.jpg. For example: Bulgaria-Rila_Monastery-Marta_Lara.jpg.
- A maximum of 5 photos per participant and trip are allowed. If a person has made two trips between 2020 and 2021, he or she can present 10 photographs, 5 of each trip.
Submitting images
Send images to concurso@tuareg.com. For large files, we recommend using wetransfer.com or a similar service.
What do we do with the pictures?
The photographs presented are used to illustrate our trips, both on the website tuaregviatges.es and in V.Tuareg’s promotional publications. If you want your photographs to be seen, credited with your name, the competition is a good opportunity. Participation in the competition implies accepting the advertising use of photographs. For our part, we undertake not to hand them over to third parties outside our agency.
Competition deadlines and procedure
We publish images on our website as they arrive. Submissions close on 31 January 2022, when we begin a selection process combining democracy and enlightened despotism: the Viajes Tuareg team holds several rounds of voting until around 20 images remain. These 20 finalists are sent to a respected professional photographer or journalist—Julio Carbó in 2019, Albert Padrol in 2018, journalist Elena del Amo in 2017 and Josep Mª Palau in 2016—who chooses the three winning photos.
Tips for the contest
Over the years, we have built up a wonderful collection of landscape photographs. Now, perhaps, we value even more the images featuring you on your travels: in extraordinary places, taking part in activities and interacting with local people… Photos that show what a trip involves.
Anyway, the final decision is made by an external jury, which does not necessarily have the same tastes as us. And in any case, a good picture is a good picture, both for us and for the jury.
Awards
There will be 3 winners (1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes) in the 2020–2021 photography competition. Prizes will be paid by bank transfer after the required 19% withholding under LIRPF 101.7.
