It's time to finish the contest for travel to Madagascar organised by Viajes Tuareg jointly with Turkish Airlines. The moment of truth has arrived: one of our participants will need to start packing to fly to the Great Red Island in fifteen days. Before announcing the winner and bringing the competition to a close, let’s look back at the final stage on the road to Madagascar.
The last test of our contest #MadagascarConTuareg aimed to showcase support and recommendations for each participant, hence the title A way with people.
Below you can see their creations, the videos they shared. First, though, we have to say how moved we are, and that feels good. Each video radiates positive energy, with contributions from relatives, grandparents, friends, nephews and nieces, people from all over the planet, fellow travel bloggers, teachers, acquaintances and each participant’s whole circle of friends.
They made strong cases for every candidate’s ability and willingness to take on the challenge of narrating a two-week trip to Madagascar. They convinced us, although some proposals may have exceeded the recommended length, undoubtedly because of their tremendous excitement about travelling and the many expressions of support they included.

Once again, we thank all the participants for their time and dedication, and everyone who appears in their films.
There is no winner of this challenge, as we have reached the final and will now give our definitive verdict. We have considered how often the videos were viewed, the support they received, production, creativity and all the factors we originally said would form part of this challenge.
Who's taking the trip to Madagascar?
Since launching the competition, we have been surprised by the talent of everyone who entered. At every stage and challenge, we have reluctantly had to say goodbye to some participants. That is how elimination rounds work, as set out in the competition rules...

Finalists. Second and third place
Once again comes the bittersweet moment of saying goodbye to some participants, as there is only one free place on the Madagascar trip. Carla blog La Maleta de Carla, Eva of Una idea un viaje, Patricia of Wanderlust Memories, Isa of Heading for Nigeria, Analucia of Traveling to live and Mireia of La Mi around the world They have all done very well, but there is not room for everyone. We must choose a winner and two reserves, yet we are certain our relationship with all of them will last beyond the competition result.
If the winner has an unforeseen problem, declines the prize for any reason or cannot use it, these are the two reserve finalists.

Both completed the challenges to an excellent standard, conveyed real passion and showed that travel—and storytelling—runs in their veins.

The moment has come. Here is the jury's verdict announcing the winner.
Arif Segnor – Turkish Airlines
Carla has shown great enthusiasm from the outset, and her video shows she is ready to take in everything Madagascar has to offer. The video’s natural style and the friends and professionals appearing in it have convinced us: we choose MadagasCarla.

“La Maleta de Carla” convinces me most because both Carla and the people in her video seem spontaneous and outgoing. It feels neither scripted nor over-prepared, yet it has been thoughtfully planned and edited to convey freshness, honesty and confidence in Carla that makes you want to travel with her.

Carla has taken part actively and enthusiastically in every challenge, sharing her blog content on social media with ease and humour. She has mobilised her supporters and competed fairly with all the participants. We believe she will be an excellent reporter, sharing the Madagascar journey with passion and accuracy.

Here's what's waiting for you on the Big Red Island:
- The Andasibe–Mantadia nature reserve, home to lemurs and an exceptionally rich and distinctive flora.
- The Tsingy of Bemaraha, one of the country’s most distinctive landscapes, where we will do some trekking.
- Visit to the capital, the colonial city of Antsirabé and canoeing through the gorges of the Manambolo and Tsiribihina rivers from Morondava.
