Those lucky enough to travel outside the summer season know the advantages: fewer crowds, often better weather and, of course, better prices.
Travelling out of season has many advantages, but which are the best destinations to travel in October?

There are places that become especially attractive in autumn.
5 best destinations to visit in October
Choosing only five destinations to travel in October is not easy. We could have drawn up a completely different list including great classics such as Thailand, Tanzania, Nepal or many other destinations.
October marks the beginning of the high season in some countries, with pleasant climates, spectacular landscapes and a smaller influx of visitors.
In this post, instead of focusing on the most popular destinations, we have created a selection of different regions of the planet, choosing a representative journey from each continent: America, Africa, Europe, Asia and Oceania. Very different proposals: nature expeditions, cultural tours of historic cities or some of the most surprising landscapes in the world.

We have taken a little geographical licence. Indonesia officially belongs to Asia, but its position between Asia and Oceania and its island landscapes led us to include it as a representative of Oceania. After all, what matters most is the chance to discover some of the best October trips.
If you are looking for holiday inspiration, these are our five recommended destinations for October.
1. Peru: history, mountains and the magic of the Andes

Our route combines some of Peru’s iconic sights with traditional communities, Andean markets and the legacy of Inca civilisation.
