We are going to Sudan and would love you to join us. In fact, we are inviting you. But we only have one place, and this message is for all the travel agents we have not yet met — and there are many of you.
That's why we encourage you to participate in #sudancontuareg a competition organised by Viajes Tuareg and Turkish Airlines in which the winner travel to Sudan for 10 days to discover the country’s wonders first-hand. This is no ordinary trip; what you will discover there belongs in the category of the extraordinary.
What the trip to Sudan will be like
Sudan stands out for its archaeological riches and its people’s hospitality. The Nile is the thread linking the journey, taking us to archaeological sites and pyramids buried in sand. The desert also plays an important role: the Western Desert with its great dunes and the Bayuda Desert with its volcanic formations. The trip lasts 10 days. On 26 April, we will fly with the airline Turkish Airlines from Barcelona or Madrid towards the capital Khartoum, returning on May 4.
How does the #sudancontuareg competition work?
Two (fun) elimination tests and a jury composed of Viajes Tuareg and Turkish Airlines to decide the winner. It's about showing that you know the job of a travel agent and being convinced that you're the right person.
Submission of credentials: Each participant must introduce themselves, complete a short questionnaire and provide their social media profiles.
The tests:
- Sell me Sudan: We are forwarding a request from a customer interested in travelling to Sudan and you must reply by convincingly selling the destination to them.
- Presentation of endorsements: Do you have good colleagues in the industry? Make a short video featuring other travel agents or tourism colleagues explaining why YOU are the ideal person for this trip. The jury will assess the number of testimonials, their links to the travel industry and your creativity.
That is what this is all about. As we progress, we will share the details of each challenge and publish the results on our travel blog.
How to participate: The first step, presentation of credentials
Send a covering letter explaining who you are, where you work, your role and your work experience, along with a photograph, to famsudan@tuareg.com. Also include a few lines explaining why you want to travel to Sudan and a list of the social networks you use.
This is not an elimination round, simply an introduction. All candidates who enter will take part in the 1st challenge, “Sell me Sudan”
