Our Naadam Festival trip to Mongolia is fully booked!
All places are now sold out for this great national celebration. The Naadam Festival brings traditional competitions, culture and a unique atmosphere to Ulaanbaatar, filling the city with life.

We travel to Mongolia during Naadam
Summer in Mongolia
In summer, life flourishes, turning the steppe and mountains green. It is also the rainy season.
Where we're going
After the festival, we explore the country from the Gobi Desert to the taiga around Lake Khorgo — or Khovsgol, if time permits — crossing the immense ‘sea of grass’ of the central steppe.
Where we stayed
A hotel in Ulaanbaatar and ger camps — traditional Mongolian tents — along the route. Distinctive, comfortable accommodation.
Transport
Domestic flights and Russian four-wheel-drive vans en route. They may not be the most modern vehicles, but their toughness and reliability make them a good choice.

The difference with other routes
Two domestic flights avoid long transit days on this touring itinerary. Ger camps provide a bed each night, adding a degree of comfort in the middle of nowhere.
Our guides
Spanish-speaking locals—the former communist regime had fascinating cultural exchanges with Cuba. Together with the drivers and cooks, they make the journey unforgettable.
On horseback or motorbike, herding families travel with their livestock. Here, nomadism is not associated with poverty.

About the Naadam Festival
What is it?
Naadam is a festival held during Mongolia's national holiday from 11 to 13 July. It includes various cultural manifestations, but its main attraction are sports competitions in three disciplines: Mongolian wrestling, horse racing and archery.

Where does it take place?
The main festival takes place in Ulaanbaatar. Competitions are held at the National Stadium, except for horse races, which take place in the open countryside. Smaller Naadams are also organised in rural Mongolia: less spectacular, but offering a more intimate, accessible experience.
What's waiting for the visitor?
The festival opens with a ceremony featuring parades, dancing and traditional music. Wrestling takes the form of a nine- or ten-round knockout tournament. Archery teams aim at targets set on a wall, while horse races cover distances of 15 to 30 km. A striking feature is the zasuuk, supporters who sing songs of praise to honour the winners.
Upcoming trips to Mongolia
We have two trips scheduled to visit the Naadam Festival with departure on July 6, from Madrid and Barcelona.
Departure from Barcelona: All places are now booked. Thank you for the interest and high demand for this trip.
Departure from Madrid: There are still places available. If you're thinking of joining, this is your chance.
In addition, we also have the Journey to Mongolia, a route that runs through the Gobi Desert, the Central Steppe and Khorgo National Park, with departures in July and August.
