Autumn safaris | Tanzania: Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Lake Natron

Across the Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Lake Natron: next departure 5 Septime, 13 October and 14 November.

At the northern border of Tanzania, the endless savannah gives way to a lunar landscape where flamingos gather seasonally. The silhouette of Ol Doinyo Lengai, the Maasai’s sacred mountain, is unmistakable on the horizon.

Autumn safari in Tanzania

During October and November, the herds move from Kenya a Tanzania towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. A spectacular experience awaits.

Rivers are strategic points for photographing herds. Their steep banks, currents and waiting crocodiles make them feared obstacles for migrating animals.

What's the best Safari? Kenya or Tanzania?

Which destination do I choose for my next safari? Kenya and Tanzania share a geographical area rich in animal diversity, and both countries have a similar natural environment and similar tourist attractions.

The main key is to know where the large herds of herbivores are at the time of the safari.

We are talking about the spectacle of Great Migration, which governs the herbivore herds’ cyclical movement between Kenya and Tanzania. Knowing where the animals will be adds value to the journey, and although we cannot predict the exact moment of the spectacular Mara River crossing with 100% certainty, the expedition’s success is virtually assured.
