We've all wished that Our flight is empty.. What would never go through our heads is that empty meant literally empty.
This happened to Skirmantas Strimaitis on 16 March, when he boarded a flight from Vilnius (Lithuania) to Bergamo (Italy). No check-in queues, no getting up to let a neighbour use the toilet. He was completely alone.
According to reports AP, the aircraft had capacity for 188 passengers, but the only other occupants were five crew members and two pilots.
How is that possible?
We have learned that a travel agency chartered an entire aircraft to take a group from Italy to Lithuania, booking only the outbound journey. The airline then sold seats for the return leg. Only one person bought a ticket “one way‘.
It only happens once in a lifetime
As the passenger told the press, “this only happens once in a lifetime”. So, for those travelling this summer on our trip to Lithuania – Latvia – Estonia, do not get too excited.
And now we ask you, What would you do if you were alone on a plane?
