Guatemala is a country that, despite its small size, is rich in history, culture and a variety of landscapes hard to find elsewhere. Its scenery combines tropical forests, lakes and volcanoes to create Dream images, alongside its colourful indigenous markets and Mayan ruins.

And that concludes our route through Guatemala in pictures. This quick journey has taken us through traditional highland villages and the Sierra de Los Cuchumatanes. We had the opportunity to tour the Forest of Petén, home to the Mayan ruins of Tikal and of Yaxhá. We sailed by the Lake Atitlan, and we dived into the Semuc Champey and in The Siete Altares. All this without forgetting the visits to the markets of Chancol and of Chichicastenango. Finally, we have visited the archaeological site of Quiriguá to end on the shores of the Caribbean, in Livingston. Archaeology enthusiasts keen to explore can also reach the Mayan ruins of Copán.
