Samarkand
When someone whispers the word Samarkand, the word brings to mind bygone times or the tales of the Arabian Nights told at bedtime. It is a magical place where East and West meet, which reached its greatest splendour when Tamerlane, heir to Genghis Khan, made it his imperial capital.
This city's existence is explained by the so-called Silk Road, was the Central Asian crossroads where caravans laden with goods arrived and departed, serving people waiting along both sides of the route.
Group travel to Uzbekistan
Travelling to Uzbekistan brings to mind some of the most fascinating chapters of history. The ancient Silk Road passed through here, and it was here that Tamerlane declared himself heir to Genghis Khan. In more recent times, this republic witnessed the collapse of the USSR.
«The guide, Arnold Alí, was undoubtedly the best travel guide I have ever had: knowledgeable, kind and friendly… The group was small, with pleasant people interested in what we were seeing.»
