Uzbekistan: the heart of the Silk Road
Uzbekistan is a country every traveller should visit at least once. At the historic heart of the Silk Road, Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva preserve the splendour of Tamerlane’s era. Here, history is written in turquoise mosaics, bazaars and the desert dust once stirred by ancient caravans.
We offer several Uzbekistan trips, all sharing one main aim: discovering the legendary Silk Road cities. Each trip has its own pace.

Trip 1: Ancient Silk Road cities and Fergana – Summer
12 days | Departures: 20 July, 3 and 17 August
This is our most comprehensive Uzbekistan trip. Alongside the essential cities of Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva, we explore the Fergana Valley, the country’s agricultural and craft heartland. There we discover Margilan’s silk workshops and a centuries-old ceramics tradition.
The trip’s highlight: combining the great historic cities with everyday life in the Fergana Valley. A journey offering a full picture of Uzbekistan, past and present.
