I’m sure many of you still remember a family trip when you were little. Because travel leaves its mark on all of us, but especially on children that, however young they are, those memories will surface as they grow older, reminding them of their first family trips.
We know that many of you have doubts about travelling with the youngest members of the family because some of the journey is long and involves intercontinental flights. Who does not remember those endless road trips when we were children? None of us was traumatised! Things have changed, and a 10-hour flight with all the comforts available today is no trouble for children.
If you are still unconvinced, here are a few reasons to travel with them.
Strengthen family bonds
Everyday life leaves little family time, so a trip together offers a chance to make the most of each other’s company.

Do it before they grow up.
Don't wait for children to grow up before travelling together: by then, they may no longer want to come! Starting young can build a lasting habit, keeping the family trip a tradition they look forward to as they grow.

Awakening curiosity
Travel means discovering ways of life that may surprise you at first. You will ask why, but as you find answers, the different social structures you encounter will begin to feel familiar.

Discovering other cultures
Travel introduces children to other cultures and helps them become more tolerant as they grow.

Food
Visiting other countries introduces children to food completely different from what they know. They may find it hard at first, but with encouragement they will try new things and broaden their tastes.

Travel is a school
Travel is a moving classroom, teaching geography, history, art, flora and fauna on location. There is mathematics too: different currencies offer practice calculating exchange rates and comparing prices.

Learning Languages
Children are said to learn languages more easily, so let them pick up new words while travelling—and put them into practice. They will surprise you.

Respect for nature
You do not need to travel for children to learn this, but travelling gives them the chance to see animals in the wild that will leave them speechless. It is a wonderful opportunity to teach them to care for the environment and respect living things.

Be surprised again.
Children are easily amazed by even the simplest things, giving us a chance to rediscover wonder and enjoy little things many of us had forgotten existed.

With them comes calm
They have a much quieter rhythm which allows us to enjoy more of each of the places we go and visit.

The Return Home
For us, coming home means returning to routine and the post-holiday blues. For them, it means returning from an adventure to share with friends. Making a photo album together can keep the journey alive a little longer.
