Silk Road. Exclusive trips to Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan in autumn

Autumn is one of the best times to travel the legendary Silk Road. With pleasant temperatures and fewer travellers, we can explore its historic cities comfortably and in depth. We have prepared special departures for those who want to discover the Silk Road without the crowds and summer heat.

The legendary Silk Road crosses Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan, connecting ancient civilisations. Autumn’s weather, travel conditions and atmosphere make it ideal for exploring landscapes, monuments and markets at a relaxed pace.

The Silk Road in autumn: an ideal climate

Autumn is the best time for the Silk Road. Mild temperatures make Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva more comfortable than in summer or winter. Monuments glow in golden light, markets are quieter, and landscapes and deserts can be enjoyed without extreme heat.

Travelling in autumn means experiencing the Silk Road at a different pace: quieter, more comfortable and full of atmosphere. Beyond temperature, it offers a better experience, letting you connect with the destination without extreme heat or cold.

Fewer tourists, more authenticity

The key points of the Silk Road, such as the markets of Uzbekistan or the fortresses of Azerbaijan, are usually less crowded in autumn. This means:
✔️ Visit iconic sites at a more relaxed pace
✔️ Increased interaction with local people
✔️ More authentic experiences in bazaars and madrasas

Autumn light enhances photos

Autumn's golden light is ideal for photography. Uzbekistan's madrasa mosaics and Bukhara's minarets glow in the season's soft light, creating striking images without summer's harsh glare.

In fact, many of the most impressive photographs of our photo contest were taken here. Travellers have captured the essence of the Silk Road in Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan, where autumn light brings a magical touch to every image.

From the majestic domes of Samarkand to the valleys and mountains of Kyrgyzstan, each photograph captures the unique beauty of this time of year. The cobbled streets of Khiva, illuminated by the warm shades of sunset, and the vibrant markets of Baku, full of life and colour, have inspired photographers and travellers.
