The blog DiarideBarcelona.cat interviewed our manager Jordi Vendrell. The Covid-19 crisis has had a special impact on tourism and travel agencies are one of the sectors most affected by the pandemic and the resulting crisis.
Tourism has been one of the sectors most affected by Covid-19. How does it affect travel agencies in particular?
The coronavirus has affected us greatly. We work internationally, so border closures and lockdown have completely disrupted our plans. Since March 11, we have had two jobs: first, repatriating everyone we had travelling around the world; second, managing refunds for people who had booked trips that could no longer go ahead.
Sri Lanka prepares to receive visitors this summer 2020 with these new rules
When can we travel to Sri Lanka?
The Sri Lankan government announced that it is preparing to reopen its borders and welcome travellers with appropriate safety measures and precautions.
Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA), Colombo Ratmalana Airport (RMA) and Mattala Rajapaksa Hambantota Airport (MRIA) will be operational from 1 August.
Sri Lanka is ready to reopen its borders on 1 August, welcoming all nationalities and all types of travellers, subject to some conditions.
The proximity of the countries of South-East Asia to the first epicentre of the pandemic in China led to the early adoption of measures and the closure of borders of all neighbouring countries. For Cambodia confirmed cases of coronavirus are rare, and daily life in the country is currently completely normal.
The Cambodian authorities maintain some health measures and recommendations, which do not affect the smooth running of our trips in the country.
Greenland remains one of the wildest and most unexplored territories in the Arctic. In summer the ice formed during the long winter nights melts and allows us access to the fjords, an incomparable natural spectacle formed by the erosion of the great glaciers that existed in the times when these lands were covered with ice.
You haven't unpacked yet and you're already thinking about your next trip?
If you start planning your next destination the moment your holiday ends, don’t worry: our programme of organised trips for 2020 is full of options with routes for all tastes. Hiking and trekking travelling in a small group, photography trips accompanied by expert photographers, Northern Lights, routes through the desert in 4×4 and much more!
Year after year we review our itineraries and listen to suggestions from travellers and local partners to find out what we can improve on our trips. We know it can be hard to find time to share your views, so we created the traveller feedback prize draw with a chance to win 200 euros for giving us your impressions of the trip.
We have received thousands of reviews since we started this project in 2012. Some have been decisive factors in changes to our routes and most help us improve details that would otherwise escape our attention.
Sometimes, your suggestions and opinions make us look up from our desks, look up at the sky, stretch out your arms and smile with satisfaction ;). Many things can go wrong on a trip: bad weather, delays, vehicle breakdowns and even clashing personalities within the group can stop it being that “perfect trip” you fondly recall with friends.
Paloma S. sends us her opinions and comments about trip to Peru organised by Viajes Tuareg this summer and we want to share them with you because these are the reviews that give us a real sense of satisfaction and encourage us to keep improving our routes.
How did you hear about our trip?
On recommendation.
Suggestions for future trips:
Keep offering such interesting routes to other destinations and reward regular customers with lower prices where possible.
Impressions of the trip of interest to other travellers
Very good. It met my expectations. A fantastic trip that I would recommend to anyone wanting to explore part of Peru.
The best of the trip:
The organisation, the logistics and everyone involved in making it possible, especially Joana, our guide for the whole trip, Rómulo, the guide in Puno, and Calisto’s family on Lake Titicaca. Our fellow travellers were exceptional too. Being of similar ages and having similar travel experience really helped us get on well.
THANK YOU SO MUCH, PALOMA!!!

Between the 20th and 22nd of June, the Earth's semi-axis leans toward the Sun. It's the summer solstice in the northern hemisphere, and daylight seems endless. Around the world, people celebrate the change of season with bonfires, festivals and different celebrations. In addition, it is a perfect time to travel because, if the world is a place worth discovering, it is even more so when the days are so long and people are happy and celebrating. These are some destinations that we have chosen to get carried away by the magic of summer.
