Total eclipse in Kenya. The return.

Our colleague Alex Póo led the Turkana expedition, in Kenya, to witness the total solar eclipse that took place last November.

Thirty-nine people, divided into three expeditions, travelled to Lake Turkana in northern Kenya to observe the solar eclipse. After setting up camp on the lakeshore, all the equipment was in place and the scientists were ready to observe it.

Despite adverse weather conditions, the skies finally opened and it was possible to capture these incredible images.

A big hug to all the «Eclipse hunters» and we look forward to seeing you in Svalbard in March 2015!

Ethiopia: a photography itinerary in the Danakil Depression

There are currently only 5 active lava lakes on the planet. This December we travelled to the east of Ethiopia to photograph one of them: the Erta Ale.

See details of our photography route through Ethiopia.

Salt lakes as white as ice, spectacular volcanic eruptions and black lava flows, lakes and geysers painting the surface in a multitude of colours… This is the Danakil, where temperatures reach 50°. The only people able to live here are the Afar pastoralists, who trade in salt extracted from the plain.

A talk introducing our Madagascar trip

Next Tuesday, 12 February at 19:30, there will be an open presentation and discussion for anyone interested in travelling to Madagascar, or simply find out more about this fascinating island on Africa.

With our dear friends Sergi, Sylvia and Jaume, stars of RTVE’s “Españoles por el Mundo” programme (Watch video), we will discover a different side of the island from the one offered by conventional trips.

Trip to Madagascar | Special itinerary

Our route for this summer, accompanied by our "semi-native" guides, offers an exclusive itinerary: Experience Madagascar: down the Tsiribihina River, the Tsingy and the south. Discovering the distinctive flora and fauna of the western region, canoeing down the Tsiribihina River and meeting local people at the markets will give us a feel for the essence of Madagascar.

We look forward to seeing you at the office of Viajes Tuareg, Mariner Passatge 1 bis 08025 – BARCELONA.
You can contact us at via Facebook or also in Twitter.

TANZANIA. The Great African Migration

February. Special departure guided by a naturalist.

See the Tanzania trip dossier

An exciting time: between mid-February and early March, large herds of wildebeest and zebras move between the south-central Serengeti and the Ndutu plains in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This is when wildebeest calves are born, and action is guaranteed: the explosion of life is spectacular. Witnessing this spectacle with a naturalist makes the experience even richer.

TANZANIA. The great migration.

Cycling around the world

Can you imagine grabbing your bike one day, buying a plane ticket and spending a whole year cycling across Africa? Our friends Isidre Juvé and Zaida Peris did just that. And as that wasn't enough, they spent another year in Asia, then a final year cycling home across Europe. How's that for an adventure?

Visiting the Doctor

Tuesday, 12 April.

I had intended to go to work today and try to get back to normal life, but it has not been possible. The sores, lifted toenails and other wounds on my feet have caused an infection. My feet and legs have swollen so much that no shoes can accommodate them.
