Masterpieces of nature that we will discover on varied, accessible walks, allowing us to get away from the local crowds.

We travel with a guide from our country who He's lived in China for years, he knows the language. and will help us understand the complex society of this destination.

China trip reviews – Trekking through eastern China

ARMAND N > September 2018 ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
A varied trip packed with activities. A good balance between culture and nature.
The best of the trip:
An exceptional guide who showed great interest and complete dedication to the group, helping us enjoy the trip to the full. Among the visits, I would highlight Tianmen Mountain, Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, the treks in Longsheng, the Guilin cruise and the bike ride to Moon Hill.

ALEJANDRO F M > September 2018 ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
Excellent. We felt comfortable from the start, and our tour leader made sure everything ran smoothly. The trip lived up to the expectations set, and sometimes exceeded them. Our guide played an important part in this too. We also enjoyed simple things, such as a bicycle ride. We would do it again.
The best of the trip:
The combination of different elements. Truly imposing cities with places such as the Imperial City and the hutongs. The way the trip was organised allowed us to walk along the Great Wall at a relaxed pace and enjoy it, just as we did in the Longji area. The natural sites we visited retained their power and some of their character, even within the “scenic area” format that drives tourism in China and makes them accessible to so many people. And our guide Guillem: without him, it would have been a different trip.

SUSANA L > September 2018 ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
I think those people who like to combine cultural visits with walks will love it. It is quite impressive the mix of the old and the new: places with hundreds of years of history next to the skyscrapers and the most modern technology.
The best of the trip:
The dedication and passion of our guide. Thanks to Guillem, we were able to do more activities than originally planned and gain an insight into Chinese culture. He also joined us for every meal not included in the trip, bringing us closer to daily life in the country. I think he made the difference between a ‘good’ trip and a ‘very good’ one. Apart from the human connections, I would highlight the visit to the Great Wall. It is spectacular and well worth the bus journey to escape the areas most visited by tourists. Walking along it with hardly anyone around is priceless. Another highlight was walking through the Longsheng rice terraces. Words cannot describe it. The landscape's changing geometry at every step makes it magical!

Travelling to Thailand with children | Thailand as a family

Travelling as a family is a post our blog could not do without. Those of us who regularly organise trips with children know how difficult it can be to choose the right destination for them. As our colleague Yolanda has just returned from Thailand, we asked her to tell us what it was like to travel to this Southeast Asian country with children.

My first trip to Thailand It was many, many years ago… and I remember it particularly well because it was one of the first long-haul trips of my life!

This year I was planning to take my daughter on her first big trip. She is 12 years old and, by the way… beautiful!!!

I had fond memories of my first trip, and when it came to choosing a destination, I knew: Thailand was chosen for their first experience in this fantastic world!

Once we decided Thailand as our family travel destination, the questions begin…

  • Will it be a safe destination?
  • Active and varied, but suited to children’s pace?
  • Fun?
  • Interesting?

I can tell you that Thailand is ideal for travelling with children, with something for almost everyone. The varied itinerary combines two major cities, Bangkok and Chiang Mai, a great adventure in the northern mountains, where we will enjoy various activities and spend time with local ethnic minorities, followed by a well-earned finale… days of relaxation on the beach!!!!

We know that travelling with children slows the pace. This trip lets you enjoy the destination at leisure, without feeling that precious time is slipping away: there is time for everything. It is as if the clock would stop so we could make much more of the day. Explaining what lies ahead and involving children in the experience helps them engage and feel excited about each new adventure. It helps us parents relax and enjoy watching them have fun.

Luggage is one concern when travelling as a family. You need very little for this trip!!!

Comfortable clothing and walking shoes are the most important things. Toys can stay at home!!! And for shopping lovers… Thailand is an ideal destination!

A very well-balanced trip and, let’s be honest… AFFORDABLE!!! We know that, when travelling with children, the daily budget can multiply by the number of family members, without increasing the number of people paying the bills, right? Travelling with children to Thailand is within your budget.

I encourage you to try this adventure and I assure you that it is possible travelling with children and having a wonderful holiday.

If you enjoy travelling to little-known places or experiencing different cultures and now have children, keep pursuing your passion and take them with you.

Last places for travel in October

As the saying goes, September is the month for the rich, but perhaps October is one of our favourite months for travel. As autumn begins, many of our destinations take on distinctive colours, displaying shades you will not see at other times of year.

For those lucky enough to travel in October, visitors even seem to receive better treatment, with fewer people queuing and fewer visitors at the main attractions.

With the arrival of autumn the trekking season in the Himalayas and northern Southeast Asia welcomes the end of the monsoons and the arrival of winter. In South America, it is an ideal time to travel, similar to our month of June, with few visitors and more affordable prices at the main tourist attractions.

The best time to travel to Antarctica

The Antarctic continent is a remote and unspoilt area. A travel to Antarctica is neither simple nor economical But it is unlikely to leave anyone who ventures to these latitudes unmoved. Icebergs, glaciers, scientific bases and incredible wildlife await visitors who venture beyond 60° south.

What is the best time to travel to Antarctica?

1.- Antarctica: NOVEMBER and early DECEMBER
2.- Antarctica from DECEMBER to mid-FEBRUARY
3.- Antarctica from mid FEBRUARY to MARCH
3.- What is the Antarctic Circumpolar Current?

With the arrival of summer, coastal areas are free of ice which allows the ships to leave. A period of five months between November and March when weather conditions are more favourable and where more than 20 hours of sunlight a day for activities.

In November, the Antarctic Circumpolar Current begins to moderate temperatures throughout the southern hemisphere. The Drake Passage offers windows of weather when it is possible to reach Antarctica without facing 10-metre waves.

Antarctica in NOVEMBER and early DECEMBER

Late spring and early summer in the southern hemisphere. The continent is covered in snow, and the pack ice begins to break up. At this time of year, Antarctica is a wonderful white landscape, with abundant icebergs and sea ice.
Sunlight encourages abundant phytoplankton growth, attracting marine mammals to feed near the coast.

It is penguin mating season, and birds are laying their eggs.

Antarctica from DECEMBER to mid FEBRUARY

Midsummer in the southern hemisphere. During this period, the warmest of the year, The snow melts, revealing rocks and tundra that allows us to go for walks.

Almost round-the-clock daylight delights photography enthusiasts.

Less sea ice means easier access to more distant areas. Seal and sea lion pups can be seen. Penguin chicks hatch, and their parents spend hours feeding them.

Antarctica from mid-February to March

End of summer and beginning of autumn in the southern hemisphere. Antarctica is preparing for winter. It's the period when the sea ice reaches its smallest extent, allowing access to the most remote areas. It is also the ideal time for activities on land, with less snow.

The whales return to feed and it is the best time to observe them; seals and elephant seals rest on land, and penguins moult.

What is the Antarctic Circumpolar Current?

The Circumpolar Current forms part of the great ocean circulation driven by changes in water temperature. The coldest water flows along the ocean floor towards the equator, while warm surface waters from tropical latitudes flow upwards to replace the colder water that sinks.

The Antarctic Circumpolar Current flows from west to east, counterbalancing the opposite direction of all subtropical currents in an area called the Antarctic Convergence,
an area of approximately 40 km where the waters sink northwards towards the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian oceans.

Reviews of a trip to Peru this summer

Year after year we review our itineraries and listen to suggestions from travellers and local partners to find out what we can improve on our trips. We know it can be hard to find time to share your views, so we created the traveller feedback prize draw with a chance to win 200 euros for giving us your impressions of the trip.

We have received thousands of reviews since we started this project in 2012. Some have been decisive factors in changes to our routes and most help us improve details that would otherwise escape our attention.

Sometimes, your suggestions and opinions make us look up from our desks, look up at the sky, stretch out your arms and smile with satisfaction ;). Many things can go wrong on a trip: bad weather, delays, vehicle breakdowns and even clashing personalities within the group can stop it being that “perfect trip” you fondly recall with friends.

Paloma S. sends us her opinions and comments about trip to Peru organised by Viajes Tuareg this summer and we want to share them with you because these are the reviews that give us a real sense of satisfaction and encourage us to keep improving our routes.

Paloma S. > Trip to Peru in August

Germany is a very large country located almost in the centre of Europe, covering nearly 360,000 km² there are many things to do at all times of the year. Although the weather can sometimes be rather unpleasant, you will find things to do in this wonderful country in all four seasons. Pack your backpack well and you will be ready to explore Germany at any time of year. Remember, if you plan to park at the airport, Fly lets you compare airport car parks to find the cheapest.

Just pack your backpack carefully and you’ll be ready to discover Germany in any season.

Germany in Winter

If you're passionate about snowboarding, skiing and snow, Germany has ski runs that will take your breath away.. It has ski resorts with hundreds of kilometres of pistes for all abilities, in a wonderful setting. Most resorts are in Bavarian region, specifically in the Bavarian Alps, such as Garmisch – Partenkirchen, from where the famous New Year’s ski jumping is broadcast.

Another spectacular feature of Germany in winter is its Christmas markets. If you have the chance to visit one of the cities that set up these little Christmas paradises like Nuremberg, Dresden, or Hamburg, the most traditional ones, you will fall in love with them.

Spring, ideal for cycling

Spring is one of the best times to explore Germany's cities by bicycle. The weather improves, the days grow longer and the gardens are in full bloom. Unlike in summer, the cities are less crowded with tourists, allowing you to enjoy your visit in peace. Germany has cities for all tastes, such as alternative, historic Berlin, classical, picturesque Nuremberg, or Frankfurt, equally modern and traditional.

If you're not one of those who enjoys visiting cities too much, we encourage you to sign up for one of our trips that we have organized by bike in Germany on the banks of the River Main. From your bicycle, you can enjoy the region’s beautiful landscapes, palaces, fortresses and castles.

Summer: head to the Baltic beaches!

Although it is not very well known, the German coast has much to offer, with more than 1000 km of beaches. It has what are known as two seas, the North Sea and the Baltic Sea: the first rougher, the second calmer. This may be a less explored area, but we assure you that you won’t regret visiting, especially in summer. It is full of seas, lakes and streams and has the largest area of marshland on the planet. The coast at Travemünde near Lübeck is perfect for families wanting to relax and enjoy water activities such as kayaking, canoeing or surfing.

If you prefer to relax, you can't miss the Spa resorts in Mecklenburg–Pomerania on the Baltic Sea. You cannot leave without visiting the Königsstuhl centre in Jasmund National Park, a place that will leave you speechless. The islands of Rügen, Sylt and Fehrmann will also surprise you.

Autumn, the season to relax

Germany has a lot to offer in autumn, although not everyone agrees. The Black Forest, known as the lung of Germany, is a wonderful place for trekking when there are fewer people but temperatures are still pleasant. Depending on the season, you can ski at the higher resorts or enjoy a day of hiking, cycling, paragliding or golf.

Trip to Brazil in October

For lovers of unspoilt nature, we have organized this trip to Brazil in October travelling up the Amazon River from Manaus to the Anavilhanas Archipelago, deep in the jungle.

> Small Group Trip to Brazil

Ships have all possible comforts for expeditions of this type and we are accompanied by a crew and, at times, local guides who will introduce us to life in the Amazon river communities. They usually have two decks, and cabins with toilets can be booked depending on the size of the group. Built from wood, they are simple and comfortable.

During the trip, we anchor the boat in quiet stretches of the Apuau River, which will serve as our “base camp” for several days.

At night, those who wish can leave the safety of the boat and camp in the jungle: an explosion of sounds, smells, darkness and caimans… a real face-to-face encounter with nature.
