There is no Planet B — Chapter 3

If there is one thing every traveller can agree on, it is that the world around us is wonderful. As people who know its beauty, we also understand the importance of preserving it. But no one is born knowing everything, and sometimes it is hard to know how we can help protect our planet. That is why we continue with «There is no planet B”, a series of posts offering advice on actions that can help preserve our wonderful world.

Featured trips to celebrate the end of 2020

Christmas is for many the best time of year to travel. Better weather in some destinations, better prices in others; more and more people decide travel during the Christmas holidays. However, constant changes to border policies in our destinations have greatly reduced our range of trips. Our programme, which usually offers more than 50 Christmas destinations, has been reduced to fewer than 20 trips.

Some countries have been more successful than others in combating the pandemic, and it is precisely in these countries that we have focused our attention on the preparation of the Christmas holiday trips.

Autumn trips 2020: where can we travel and what do we need?

Travel now or leave it for another time? There are different points of view, and each has some merit.

On behalf of Viajes Tuareg, as travel professionals, we simply do what we know: suggest itineraries where the authorities so authorize and adapt the type of trip to current health requirements.

Here are our proposals for the coming months of September and October.

Looking for a special trip in October?

Lake Natron: Safaris and adventures in Maasai land. Special departure from 6 to 16 October

Our Tanzania trip—Lake Natron, a journey through the Serengeti and Ngorongoro—combines the landscapes and wildlife we hope to see on an African safari with the chance to spend a few days on what feels like another planet. We will find a pink lake, animals mummified by salt and an active volcano to climb. Above all, we can discover daily Maasai life away from tourist villages.

What if PCR testing became the new normal in travel?

What if PCR testing became the new normal in travel?

Before 2000 it was unthinkable; today we take it for granted

Do you remember airport security checks before 11/sep/2000? Having to take off our shoes to pass through security was almost unimaginable.

Years later, we take it for granted that we have to remove our belts or pass through modern scanners that can see right down to our skeletons. What was unimaginable in 2000, Today is just one more formality.

Similarly, more and more countries are requiring a PCR test as a condition of entry

Travel with social distancing

As international tourist travel begins to return to normal, we will undoubtedly hear the words privacy and distancing frequently.

Embracing opportunities and challenges is central to the work of Viajes Tuareg.

PCR tests: what are they and where can you get one?

The pandemic is making things very difficult for all of us. Constant changes to border policies force us to keep up to date, especially now, with the possibility of further outbreaks.

The epidemiological situation in each country is changing, and measures may be introduced overnight to implement the trip that we had planned or that we would be asked to carry out the PCR test in an attempt to enter the country.

Travel outlook for the coming months | Post-Covid travel

The blog DiarideBarcelona.cat interviewed our manager Jordi Vendrell. The Covid-19 crisis has had a special impact on tourism and travel agencies are one of the sectors most affected by the pandemic and the resulting crisis.

Tourism has been one of the sectors most affected by Covid-19. How does it affect travel agencies in particular?

The coronavirus has affected us greatly. We work internationally, so border closures and lockdown have completely disrupted our plans. Since March 11, we have had two jobs: first, repatriating everyone we had travelling around the world; second, managing refunds for people who had booked trips that could no longer go ahead.

Greenland prepares to receive visitors

What is the best time to travel to Greenland?

Summer is certainly the best time to travel to Greenland

Greenland’s entire coastal strip, especially in the south, is free of ice and snow in summer, so our hikes pass through snow-free areas of willow and dwarf birch.

Making the most of the long summer daylight hours, it is possible to undertake treks varied, with elevation changes of 50 to 550 m and around 2 to 6 hours of actual walking, all in daylight. Most routes are cross-country, as there are no tracks or trails in Greenland, but walking poses no difficulty in summer.
